SPREAD THE JOY OF BOARDGAMES
PROMOTE MENTAL WELLBEING
About Me.
How did I get interested?
I am currently a student who has a great passion for Board Games. I started playing board games in the summer after the COVID lockdowns (I know - we're all sick of hearing news from COVID...), and originally hated having to get out of the house and walk somewhere to play (I could just play games online so why would I actively go outside to do the exact same thing?). However, as I played them more and more, I found that they drew me out of my covid hermit crab shell and got me to start laughing and talking in person again. I then decided that I wanted to spread this joy from playing board games to those around me, knowing that COVID had negatively impacted many of my friends moods and caused us to have a little trouble socialising face to face.

Board Games are so much more than just 'fun'.
Board Games provide insight into a country's values, culture and history.
As I started to play board games in school every week, I noticed that there was a trend between board games and their countries of origin.

I founded my school's first Board Game Society and it launched with great success! Carried out fundraising to buy boardgames for the community's wellbeing and mental health.

Additionally, created my school's first Board Game Library, increasing the availability of the board games and therefore having more of an impact to 500+ students and staff.

Involvement with Elderly
Dementia Patients
Board Games are being introduced to the local memory cafe, which is linked to a carehome for the elderly with dementia. Bespoke memory cards have also been created, featuring sentimental locations and popular desserts and dishes from daily life. Hopefully, playing board games will bring the elderly a sense of joy and inclusivity too!
